Convincing A Client That They Need You
This is a very important section in this course. We are going to discuss how to talk someone into giving you the ability to let you do a lyric video for them.
If they write back to the script you sent in the previous section, it’s now your job to take it all to the next level and really convince them that they NEED the lyric video and YOU.
Like in any industry, if you can’t convince someone of the sale, you don’t get paid. This is why sales are one of the biggest departments in any true business. They bring in cash flow and cash flow is what pays people who work for the company and allows the company to continue growing and expanding.
Later in this Master Series I teach you how to establish your legal business entity in 10 minutes as well as start hiring people to work for you.
Why Are They Going To Buy A Lyric Video From You?
Well, if you can show the customer the power of a lyric video and what they do for artist careers they will clearly see you are someone they NEED to make the video happen.
On the other hand, if they do not understand why they need a lyric video, they won’t buy it from you.
The thing is, in the music industry it is pretty obvious you need a lyric video if you are a serious artist, right? Simple stating that alone could make them say to themselves “I’m a serious artist, why don’t I have any videos yet? He/she right, I got to get one done!”.
Then from there it is your job to convince them why YOU are the person that should be shooting this video for them.
Why You Are The Best Choice For Them
For one, you are way hungrier than anyone else out there. You bought this course and you are serious about making this happen. You approached them, you believe you can do something great for them and most importantly these videos reflect how hard YOU work, not just their brand.
Let them know that you are going to put in 110% because you are going to show this video to your next customer and it HAS to look amazing.
Mention that you will be promoting their video around town and that helps them because you are going to be talking to A LOT of rappers.
The Absurd Cost Of Hiring Someone Else
The reason I started learning how to shoot my own lyric videos was because people wanted $1,000 to $3,000 to make me a lyric video.
Are they INSANE?
Some places even said $10,000 for a crazy animated lyric video. Lol why the f*** would I ever waste that much cash flow for someone to shoot me a video if I don’t even have a fan base to enjoy it yet!?
Let them know that other people are going to charge them an arm and a leg and that you are hungry, so you do it for a crazy deal.
Show The Customer The Amount Of Time Required And Cost Per Hour
Show a potential customer why it’s a deal by telling them it will take you 10 to 20+ hours to make a lyric video for them. If you break that down into hours of pay at first you are working for, like $5 an hour. Explain to them how much they have to learn in order to do it themselves.
ONLY AT FIRST THOUGH ???? We all start somewhere
Show The Customer The Power Of A Lyric Video To Get Their Song Heard
The difference is enormous for a reason. Lyric videos get watched more. They get more clicks and it helps artists put a face to their voice which helps them grow.
Let Them Know How Much Work It Takes
Most people don’t realize how much work it really takes to shoot a lyric video. So you should let them know. It’ll be much more impressive and make the price seem like a deal if you tell them how much work goes into it.
Setting up and choosing the right fonts to psychologically stimulate the viewer and match the emotion and tone of the song.
- Total Time Editing Clips
- Color Correction & Color Grading
- Adding Effects
- Additional Reformatting, Edits (Only If Necessary)
- Etc., Etc.
Bargaining With Potential Customers
You can do a lot of things and make any deal you want to in order to get the job. Just make sure it is a good deal for both of you.
Convincing Customers To Spend On Ad Marketing
Tell them to consider Facebook and YouTube ads, as well. Let them know that putting ad dollars into a lyric video will get more traffic and views to their lyric video increasing their fan base.
Talk the rappers into putting extra budget into marketing for YouTube ads. Their money can be used to promote your brand passively.
Really, they are spending the same money on ads to get their music heard but it helps you get seen since you are the one creating the content and your logo and information is in the video.
This is being smart. ????
