Song Break Down Strategy

In the next few sections, we’ll break down the top artists across the map. We take their songs and:

• Break down each line and show their syllable count.
• See what techniques and patterns they use to move from one quatrain to the next, which you can use to understand how to lace together your flows.
• Where their flow hits on each bar converting into the next.

Once we have gotten the fundamentals down, we’ll eventually move into:

• Count where their syllables hit on each bar.
• Count breathes and where in the pattern it took place.
• Count where they took a breath in order to transition to the next bar.
• Show how each artist emphasizes their syllables on the kicks, snares and different underlying instruments.
