Month 5: Expanding Your Network
Now that you have experience, you can start to brand out to bigger, established brands and companies.
Products constantly need videos and advertising has some of the highest budgets out there.
Contact brands through social media, send them your work along with a proposal of what you’d make for them. Come in at a reasonable budget that you can leverage for a raise later. With big companies, it’s all about getting in the door.
Also think about representation. Pick the biggest city near you and look up talent agencies that represent directors or have a social media division.
You’ll be surprised.
Go in for an interview and see if they’ll be able to help you get more lucrative work. The clients you’ve found yourself you’ll be able to keep all earnings from. You only have to pay them a percentage of your earnings if they got you a specific job and it’s earnings from that job alone.
Continue building your portfolio, updating your social media with your work, engaging with others online and in-person, and creating and shooting spectacular content.
